AHTS Membership

The AHTS welcomes new members. Whether your interest is in collecting and restoring old telephone equipment, the history of telephony, chatting about old telephones, or even just curious about what this group of people does with their spare time, you'll most likely find the member services and friendly atmosphere of the AHTS a place to come back to.

As a new member you'll receive a starter's kit which includes a membership certificate, a copy of the latest newsletter, and a number of other technical articles. Once you are a member you'll be forwarded the latest copy of the society's newsletter every two months, and have the opportunity to purchase specialty items, such as technical publications and replacement components. You will also be invited to the bimonthly meetings where you can hear a talk related to historic telephones, interact with like-minded people over supper, and bid at the regular equipment auctions.

Becoming a member is easy. Simply

  1. Print out the membership form (on the membership form page click anywhere on the form then choose print from the file menu, or download and print the rtf version of the membership form)
  2. Fill in the details as indicated, and
  3. Post it to the following address with the appropriate subscription fee (cheques and money orders made payable to the "Australian Historic Telephone Society Inc.");
  4. Your application is then proposed to the membership at the next meeting.

    A short time later you will receive your membership number and membership kit.
